Canadian Tourist Injured in Bear Attack in North Eastern Japan The picturesque landscapes of north eastern Japan have been marred by a series of disturbing bear attacks.

The latest incident occurred at Goshikinuma Ponds in Fukushima prefecture, where a Canadian tourist in her 30s was injured by a bear that scratched her face and right arm before fleeing into the woods.

This attack follows another incident just hours earlier, in which a 73 year old local woman in Iwate prefecture was attacked outside a barn, suffering injuries to her left wrist and right shoulder.
